I have been working on this one for a week or so about internet dating pages. However I refuse to join them as anything else but as my real sex (male) so I have a male (and hetero-sexual) bias. SO if any female or gay researchers want to help me out on it then feel free

Very funny and informative. I wish you luck on the project, but I don't have any information to add. I will suggest that you include links for some of these dating places... I must admit to being just a little curious now...

I was wondering about that, but I have to consider that firstly those people didn't place their ads so that i could expose them to the world, and secondly some are from a site (hint - well know search enging, begins with an E) that is only suppose to be for adults and I know a large number of people here are sub-18. Also I don not know if such links are approved of by TPTB - anyone care to clarify this?

I think as long as you selected links from areas that were rated G, you'd be alright. And I wouldn't link specific ads... just ad areas. No matter what you do, it'll make its way through the editorial process, so if there's something they object to, they'll take care of it then.

Honest its not suppose to be funny (in case any sub-editors ever read this) but yes hopefully it is imformative, glad you thought so. I've had some comment from one Bi girl so the page will soon have another view point but any one else want to comment or any scouts or sub-eds want to comment?

This article (http://www.h2g2.com/A394463) has now been updated to avoid the guides "No Jokes" rule and is intended purely as serious guide.
The less than serious stuff in the previous article are now here

It looks good, and I like the new information that has been added since I saw it last. It gets my Seal of Approval, for what that's worth.

And now we see just what that Seal of Approval is worth after all...
Congratulations! This entry has been Recommended for inclusion in the Edited Guide. This forum will be moved out of Peer Review shortly, and the editorial staff will handle it from here. It will then appear on the What's Coming Up page before it makes its grand debut on the homepage as an Edited Guide Entry!
I do recommend patience, however. This process does take some time, just as recommending it did. But it's all worth it in the end. And as a bit of further advice, I would keep an eye on it if I were you, as it goes from Recommended to Pending, which means it has been edited. When it goes Pending, you can still get some last minute changes in, but when it's Edited, it'll take an act of gods.
The Towers are going to take a look at the links provided, and will eliminate any that contain explicit material, but will endeavor to keep the rest. Have to keep up that family image, after all...

Clearly the work of some misguided Scout. I'd probably better let Mark know that this thread is over here, so it can be relocated to the article.

Relax, KF. We've instituted a new wrinkle in the Scout scheme, whereby articles that need a bit of work get moved to the Writer's Workshop. Somebody decided that this article needed a bit of work, and recommended to Mark that it be relocated here. I disagreed, however, and so I recommended it to the Towers for inclusion into the Edited Guide. That recommendation has been accepted. So, before too much longer, Mark will move this thread again, this time to attach it to your article, where people can continue to comment and offer suggestions for improvement clear up until it goes up on the homepage.
We've only just begun to tinker with this new way of doing things, which is designed to help us keep the Peer Review page cleared of clutter. You've fallen victim to one of the growing pains in the new process. On behalf of all of the Scouts, I apologize for the inconvenience.

You can also throw some virtual at me if you like, Kadu.
In the rush to reduce the clutter in the Peer Review system caused by badly-formatted threads and *some* entries which need more work, I was a little over-zealous in my thread moving. Now threads are only moved after a reason has been posted to that thread, so at least the information is present, rather than just a new, unexplained forum.
Teething problems, I'm afraid, but ones we're working on ironing out. And your thread should now be back in Peer Review, ready to move to the entry once it's processed internally...
Mark
R we all happy?
Kadu Flyer Posted Dec 13, 2000
Cool, as long as it sees the light of day.
As I realise it is UK-centric and contains links to potentially pornographic sites I have included a note in a to indicate 2 paragraphs 2 be removed from the final version. I will then retain the original and re-name it Free Internet Dating in the UK.
I have also added one or 2 other bits in it as they come to me.
I hope your teething problems are sorted, I had every confidence they would and wasn't *too* upset, honest.
