This is the method I have begun to use for researching on the go. I'm curious if anyone knows of an entry like this already in the guide (I wouldn't know what to search for), and if this has any EG potential - I understand it sort of walks the line of personal experience, but it's also a how-to.

Very interesting!
I'm not sure myself if it would be EG or UG material- but I would bet on EG! I wrote an article on how to keep a geological field notebook A2939501, and it got through. As soon as you think you're ready, give it a shot in Peer Review.
Oh- you misspelled "Guide" in the second section
