"Something strange is going on ?
GuideML entries keep being filled with by the parser.
Text entries are failed by the parser, well on closer look < <./>test3237860</.> >.
This is going to be an extensive feature < A3238139 >"

There's nothing unusual about the test parser throwing an error on encountering plain text smileys. That's normal behaviour for it.

I think the way nearly all its text is invisible (in brunel) until high-lighted is of more concern bug-wise. However, these things have been reported before a long time ago. So they apparently haven't been deemed worth fixing. Making a decision to check GuideML vs plain text would require an extra variable test on the article's attributes but then a lot more work on a second parsing technique. Making the text visible ought to merely require a style-sheet change - eg white letters like classic instead of black like alabaster (and plain).

We're aware of the issue with GuideML and the s and it will be fixed in the next release (coming shortly).
