selective MP list bug

Post 1

SEF

The link to "Older Postings >>" is no longer working on my MP list (in brunel) as of this evening since it was definitely working earlier in the day. Since Peta was on another bug thread I tested hers and she still gets older and newer links.

...

A few further tests:

It doesn't matter whether I'm logged in or not. It doesn't matter how far through the list I am (though at the starting page I obviously don't get "<< Newer Postings" either!). It doesn't matter how many threads I opt to view either. Nor does trying plain skin help.

...

Continuing testing, I find I can make it go wrong for Peta at show 100 and skip 100 ( <./>MP24?show=100&skip=100</.> ) but it still works for Jim Lynn at those settings ( <./>MP6?show=100&skip=100</.> ) whereas mine has to be down at something like show 20 to work!

Perhaps this is like the obscure plain bug where having too many threads attached (eg on the Askh2g2 forum) makes all the thread links go away (because of the visible or hidden extra page links).

Unless it's personal (and the ability to eventually overstretch someone else's list argues against that!), it looks more like I'm the person who is the one most *not* missing links (apart from that one)! I still have the ACEings for example, whereas some people deleted theirs. I only did a small amount of trimming early on but otherwise have everything to which I subscribed. Nonetheless, there ought to be someone subscribed to Askh2g2 (unlike me) who has more thread links than I do, eg if they are absent and/or don't prune their MP list.
