broken "latest post" data on MP lists
SEF Started conversation Jun 17, 2006
Some conversation MP lists are showing threads to which people have posted but the lists are failing to show that they have posted at all (other than by subscription) and where that last post was. Checking the thread manually reveals that (in the cases I'm calling broken) they have indeed posted to it. The error appears to be random because other threads on the same MP list (and to the same sub-site) are correctly linked.
It is particularly obvious for message board people who don't normally have access to subscription and unsubscription features. I thought at first a few had inadvertently come across how to do it but I've been coming across more and more examples, including people who show no sign of having that aptitude/knowledge. It doesn't matter on which sub-site you view the MP list (not really surprising).
Eg: http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/MP3577524
has "Place of Pilgrimage? ... Science And Nature ... No Posting"
but F2564204?thread=2556889#p29503396 (post #16 in that thread)

Traveller in Time checking the date
"On 25th March the number of postings routine was failing in some way.
Have seen more strange things counts on those days, think some accounts or threads were skipped by the routine. "

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
