what just happened?

at 8:17 PM EDT on 24 September ( that would be just after midnight on the 25h british time) h2g2 announced an unknown error has occurred. I logged out and logged back in or at least tried to.
It asked are you trying to register or sign in (This page has moved)
I went to who'se online and was told there were 0 researchers on line. I left h2g2 for a few minutes and when I came back it let me in.
