Just wondering who decided it would be a good idea to change, 'This is where your list of friends will appear', to the blunt and rather cruel, "You have no Friends".

Yes, Pliny. It's not a welcoming start to newbies. I agree with Rudest Elf and peanut Also an explicit message that you need to add people as friends (so as to get their journal entries) needs to be included in their welcome pack.

No you don't . If you want to get their journal entries, you can do so via their personal spaces.

If you do add people as friends, you have to receive their journal entries...

How long does it take to change one line of text?

RE, the development team at the moment consists of me. Just me.

As much as I'd like to nip in and change the odd line of text, I need to prioritise keeping the site stable. Fixing text doesn't take long, and what we'll do is build up a list of all the text that needs changing, and then do it in one batch.

But it's not on the vital/urgent list I'm afraid.

Sorry, Pastey, but it's taking so long - and, doubtless, the non-functionality of so much of the site is discouraging to both newbies and old hands alike.

Also, little things like misleading or inaccurate text, frustrate.

RE, if you want it done quicker, then please learn PHP, MSSQL, XSL, XSLT, CSS, HTML, JavaScript, Python, Perl and C# and help out. All volunteers are welcome, and that's the skill set needed to work on the Guide.

Failing that, please feel free to donate enough to employ me to do this full time rather than giving up all my spare time to it.

Never had to go beyond programming in Basic & Cobol (on cards).......... and that was more than 30 years ago... so I guess you'll have to seek help elsewhere.
