el D – for the sake of brevity and out of respect for my fellow Glums

In general I like the new look UI but there are a few things I'm missing (or not finding?)

There doesn't seem to be a one-click route from a specific conversation back to the list of 'My Conversations' as there used to be. It seems to be necessary to go via My Space every time.

Clicking on the 'Latest Reply' in the conversation list takes me to the first post of a conversation, not the last.

When I reply to a conversation, my entry appears as both the latest post and the latest reply in the list whereas it used to be the time of the last reply by another subscriber to the conversation. I can see that, when someone else replies, the list entry is backed in blue and there is a '1 new post' text in the list but I just think the 'Latest Post/Latest Reply' part doesn't work so well.

Of course, now that I've written that, I find that my point 2 only applies to some conversations, not all!smiley - spacesmiley - blush

Also, have 'the eyes' gone? If so, I quite miss those.smiley - spacesmiley - sadface

Hi el d, we've got some issues still with Pliny, being able to reply to certain conversation types is the main one.

The eyes have gone because they didn't actually work, but they are planned to come back when they do work again.

And yes, I think getting a My Conversations link / popup sorted soon is definitely needed smiley - smiley

Yeah, although we did quite a lot of testing. Pliny was launched a little early, but Ripley, the older skins, really couldn't cope any more. I'm still astounded that it lasted as long as it did, seriously impressed with the coding that the guys back then did.

Tell me about it! Miss one of a pair of inverted commas and zap! your page is scrambled eggs. And stuff that works on your local machine while you're writing the code then refuses to behave itself when it's uploaded to the server... etc., etc. Such fun!

It was more a case of stuff that works under a subdomain refusing to work under the root domain. Yeah, haven't quite figured that one out yet.smiley - laugh

Ah, now then, I'm wondering if it was there all the time and I just hadn't seen it or if it's just appeared! I refer to the button to the right of the 'My Space' button on the menu bar; the one that takes you back to your conversation list. Either way, I'm pleased to have found it!
