Entry: Avvakum Petrovich of Russia - A3880046
Author: Shagbark- a very Merry Christmas to everyone - U170775

I ran across this five year old article and decided to see if I could get it into shape that would be acceptable for the EG.
It ids nice to see someone willing to take a stand for something, and stick with it.

Avvakum faced the Russian chopping block exclaiming "We suffer and die for the truth...Here stands my throne" The Tsar had other ideas however and the Arch Priest was soon back in his jail cell where he continued his autobiography.
Pages of it continued to be smuggled out by his followers until 1676.

It is so long ago that I hardly remember. I think I was looking at something else and decided to see how the Russian Orthodox Church began,
and that led to Michigan Slavic Publications which had his autobiography on-line.
I figured I would write it up before I lost track of the link.
Then working on my new index I ran across it and said let's see what we can do with this.

I am going back to brunel to work on this.
The editing screens in the new H2G2 are confusing {headhurts}.

I did those edits (in brunel)
also put the title of the book in footnote 3 in Italics and added a full stop at the end of each footnote.

Some nitpicks:

Avvakum Petrovich - 17th Century Martyr

17th century schism --> 17th Century schism

father was a Priest/became a Priest --> (no need to capitalise priest as it is not a proper noun)

truth...Here stands my throne" The Tsar
-->
truth... Here stands my throne". The Tsar

Called a masterpiece of Russian Literature "The Life,Written by Himself" has been
-->
Called a masterpiece of Russian Literature, "The Life, Written by Himself" has been

for his cause. 1
as recently as 19792
and ever. Amen."3
--> footnotes should be before punctuation, except perhaps the final full stop in a quote, and should thus be:
for his cause1.
as recently as 19792.
and ever. Amen.3"

Otherwise, good work smiley - ok

h2g2 auto-messages

Your Guide Entry has just been picked from Peer Review by one of our Scouts, and is now heading off into the Editorial Process, which ends with publication in the Edited Guide. We've therefore moved this Review Conversation out of Peer Review and to the entry itself.

If you'd like to know what happens now, check out the page on 'What Happens after your Entry has been Recommended?' at EditedGuide-Process. We hope this explains everything.

Thanks for contributing to the Edited Guide!
