Semi-based on a true story. My mother had a cactus that my father and I hated. One day, my hanging Boston fern snapped it's corn and fell, crushing and killing the evil cactus.

My mum had a hanging plant in the kitchen, my dad reckoned she was training it to strangle him, we also had an amarylis plant that was commonly know as the Triffid

Fraid not, but it was given to mum by a friends as an xmas pressie when it bloomed there was an adaptaion of Day of the Triffids on TV and the plant was identical to the Triffids on TV, hence the nickname
