A Conversation for Why failing to vote is NOT a valid protest - if you dislike them all, then spoil your paper

I wholeheartedly agree!
A few comments:
There's a kinder - if you will - option between voting properly and spoiling the paper: simply turning in a blank vote. Once, according to memory, I have done so - for the exact reasons you are on to: couldn't find anyone I wanted to vote for but if that should keep me from voting.
I think it's in Belgium that it's actually mandatory to vote - you will/can be fined if you don't. Would have checked up on it before dropping the note - if it wasn't because I've just lost all my settings in Thunderbird so all my mails and addies are hanging in disconneted files They're there, though... and I need to get them back
At least we're still in the 80's in terms of participation in general elections in Denmark (84,5% last time)

Thanks for reading, Santra. I'll add the blank vote suggestion into the entry.
Just a reminder that conversations about the election should be here: A3772974 and not continued in this thread or attached to this page.
