The acute accents don't go in the title, just the text
This is good, and a fitting memorial. Thank you for writing it. He shared his birthday with Stevie Wonder and my older daughter, and the year of his birth with my older son.
Strange I am also writing about organ donation in another Entry,

He was the same age as me, and I was stuck in France during his Star Academy time. I watched the whole series, and fell in love with him a little bit! A few months ago I was listening to his first single, and wondered what he was up to now, so I googled him and got a bit of a shock when I found out he'd been dead for a year...
Glad you liked my entry.

Hi Cyzaki
Haven't seen you around for ages. Where've you been?
Right pointers:
This appears to be a bit short in my opinion
You could add more I feel: such as quotes, what did he say, or other people say about him.
I think song is single quotation marks and album is italicised
this is the start of a great Entry

Dunno where I've been really! I just disappeared one day and never came back until now
Is song in single quotation marks even if it's in foreign? I'm having to re-learn all the house rules!
I'll have a hunt around for something to flesh this out a bit.
Thanks for the input!

I found a quote from Lucie Silvas about him, so I've put that in. There's not much more info about him around though, he died so young and he wasn't famous for that long before he died. Plus, most of the info is in French and my French is a bit rusty... Let me know if it still needs more!

I'll try and find out the answer to your query about the song title, Opti is correct - single quotes for song titles, but foreign language goes in italics tag, so one should take precedence, because we don't use italics tags and single quotes, although, with a foreign language song title

I think the "foreign phrase" rule doesn't apply in this instance - it's still a title.

You might want to mention that his death was probably not really a shock as cystic fibrosis sufferers have a very short lifespan unfortunately, including extensive periods of hospital admittance for IV antibiotics etc. So the fact that he managed to get a career off the ground despite all these difficulties is quite astounding really.
Never heard of him, and looking forward to learning more now I do

I might be being a bit picky here but..."he performed duets with French stars such as Yannick Noah, Michel Sardou and Patrick Bruel."
Would it be better to describe these people as celebrities? Noah being known outside of France as a former tennis great and after a quick Google I see that the other two are described as a French singer in Sardou's case and a "Jewish French singer, actor, and professional poker player." in Bruel's case.
Hmm, maybe they are just 'Stars' after all...
I found a few extra snippets of information as well:
Frederick Martin was sentenced to Lyon for having insulted the singer Gregory Lemarchal because of his disability. (this has been auto translated so reads slightly disjointed)
Monday, March 31, 2008
Frederick Martin, the son of television host Jacques Martin, was sentenced to Lyon for having insulted the singer Gregory Lemarchal because of his disability. As a reminder, Gregory Lemarchal, 2004 winner of Star Academy, was suffering from cystic fibrosis, a disease which he died on April 30, 2007.
On 26 September 2006, when issuing "We tried everything" on France 2, led by Laurent Ruquier and devoted to Star Academy, Frederick Gregory Martin had designated the name of the illness which he suffered. A complaint was filed by Gregory Lemarchal November 23, 2006 for "insulting because of a disability." His family had pursued the lawsuit after the death of the singer.
The 16th chamber of Lyon condemned Frédéric Martin to pay 2,000 euros in damages and the publication of the terms of his sentence, which will be played on television. The lawyer for the family Lemarchal said: "We are satisfied with this conviction. Our goal was not to obtain damages but to enforce the law when an individual is reduced to its pathology."
His family are very upset about an unauthorised biography of him and also his father has stated that there are quite a few unreleased songs that seem to be being blocked for some reason. (again I'm taking this info from a french language site that Google is doing it's best to translate and alas the efforts are a bit askew at times)
Just a tiny example of the translation... The singer's father, Pierre Lemarchal, made a somewhat surprising statement in french magazine VSD: "Yes, there are new songs, and even very big surprises. These songs are blocked, not by Universal, but by people whose we would never have imagined they keep it below the elbow. I do not ask me to do that gift. If they do not have the elegance not, too bad! But they give us at least make public. I hope to recover these bands and released a day. "
"Below the elbow" eh'

Indeed. Who would have imagined they could ever keep it below the elbow!
I'll have a read in the original language and see if I can make enough sense out of it to include anything in the entry.

I've added a very brief bit about the controversies after Gregory's death. Those websites definitely make more sense pre-google translation mangling!
