I wrote this entry for the following reasons:
I had the pleasure to spend a couple of days in the Death Valley NP at the end of March 1997, seeing the Hale Bobb comet through a absolutely clean unpolluted air.
However, the thing I remember most is the great meal we had in Panamint Springs when we left the NP. Of course, I liked the landscape, the nature and the heat. But with H2G2 being a "hitchhiker's guide to the earth" I think it's a good idea to tell the community about a special place to get food.

I like it... definitely useful information
It would benefit, I think, from a footnote or two... perhaps I'm being unusually dense here, but which is the lowest point in the western hemisphere? The bits in parenthesis might be better off as footnotes, too... that's up to you, I s'pose.
Other than that... ' is preferred to "... and that last 'the don't' ought to be 'they don't', I reckon.
Good stuff

It was my understanding that Death Valley is the lowest point on land... in any hemisphere. Still, MS Encarta says it is the lowest on the Western Hemisphere, at 82 meters below sea level. MS wouldn't lie, would they?
I think you've found an interesting subject, but it does seem to have a heavy Euro-centric flavor. Remember, the Guide is read and contributed to by people in every hemisphere and on every continent. This entry could benefits from a second-person description, but it is best to make that narrative generic for a general audience.

Maybe a little more hard-core info about Panamint Springs and Death Valley. I like hearing about the food, but that's the only solid information in your article.

Lentilla,
I wrote the guide entry mainly about the food, not about the National Park. I do realize the the Death Valley NP is worth a closer inspection, but as I spent only a couple of days there, I do not feel qualified to write about the NP.
I think that the NP is famous enough, as most travellers to Nevada/California go there. That's not a new fact, that's quite common travel planning. My hint for everybody's travle plans is not to pass Panamint Springs, but to dare the burger.

Colonel Sellers,
I agree with you that it's a good idea to add some second person info about the Death Valley NP. As I mentioned before, I do not feel qualified to write about the Death Valley. Maybe some other researches has a profound knowledge about the NP? I would be glas to add my almost-food-only information to an entry about the NP.
Thanks for your advice

Looking good...
There appear to be spaces between the footnote numbers and the things they're footnoting, though, which could use removing...
