"The Spiritual Home of Concrete"
Usually associatied with the game see entry ID: A37847 for a good description of it. Also the town is famous for it's other export cement, and we've just been given the biggest cement kiln in western europe for being good! (cough, cough).
There isn't usually a good reason to visit the town but it does have a major train station, and until recently the longest, glazed, platform roof in the country (they've just started removing it!). Also on 3 sides of the town 3 motoerways M1, M6 & M45(the least used mway in the country). So plenty of transport links, just in case you want to leave. There is also a picturesque canal skirting the town, if you want to leave slowly, tho it goes to Coventry in one direction and Oxford in the other.
The only good thing I can think of mentioning is a new library and museum complex, worth a visit to see a picture by Lowry.
Locals are reasonably friendly, and there are lots of pubs closely packed in the town centre. You might find me in either the Firkin, Duck or Alexandra Arms! "mines an Addlestones"
