Watching them repeated though I can't help think they're actually quite 'nice' about politicians.
If your looking for good modern political comedy then you can do no better than bremner bird and fortune on channel four.

True they are nice about some politicians. I don't actually think this kind of show would appeal to many people look at the failure of "Absolute Power" which was popular on R4 before being on TV.

I don't know what Absolute Power is, but if they were to do a remake of YPM it would definitely need to be more modern.
I see the point about being nice about politicians - the real schemer in the show is Sir Humphrey, the senior civil servant. The politicians were if anything, well-meaning pawns.
