The Strange Report

An excellent quirky detective drama from the late 1960s, recently out on DVD. Anthony Quayle starred as Adam Strange, an ex-Home Office criminologist drafted in by Scotland Yard to help solve baffling cases. He had a square-jawed American sidekick who handled all of the fisticufs, and a kooky artist neighbour, who usually got kidnapped. I can't think off the top of my head who would play the main roles if it was re-made today, but the original made great use of its 'swinging '60s' backdrop.
