A Conversation for Duke of Edinburgh Awards

D of E fellow sufferer!

Post 1

Vampire Countess

I did my D of E bronze expedition just before you, and we were also walking in Wales. As is that wasn't painful enough I then went on to do my Silver expedition about a month ago around Harlech which hurt even more. We didn't get to camp until 11 on the first night - that hurt! As training for the expedition I had to climb Snowdon, which I don't intend to do again! I totally sympathise with how you felt - and you were really lucky to be near your friend's house. I live in Wolverhampton so we were miles away from home. I hope you have continued with the Award cos it sounds like you had fun.

um...well...actually, i haven't even completed my bronze...and i don't think i'm going to...
in my opinion, the expedition is the best bit, i love it, but all the other stuff takes effort, and i just can't be bothered. i actually went walking in north wales with my brother for a week earlier in he holidays, that was fun, cos therewas noone to tell us what to do like there is on d of e. for example, we slept in a half built two storey ewndy house belonging to some rich people, one night. that was fun.
