A Conversation for Talking Point: Zoos
Vile Victorians
Opticalillusion- media mynx life would be boring without hiccups Started conversation Jul 5, 2006
You mention the Victorians which causes me to think of people like the Hottentot Venus who was put on display from Africa? alongside other people who were made spectacles of. If zoos originated during Victorian times I can see how easily the animals were and are now still seen as spectacles. I don't agree on animal cruelty or animals behind bars and I'm all for helping them live out their lives where they were and are always meant to be i.e. the wild.
