I've asked the eds if they can unpick this again - it's not ready!
Number 6 asked for something to be added, and I am still waiting for the the info to come through the post about the baths.
I think it means I'll have to create another entry and put it back into PR for another week, but I'd rather do that than have the entry go in not finished.
Sorry for the nuisance.

The Eds say not to unpick it as it makes a mess. I've had the info through now, so if I make some changes to the entry later on today or at the weekend, will the people in this thread still review it for me?

I expect you've all wandered off thinking this has been picked and so no more need to comment. I wish people would read things before they are picked. I clearly stated I wasn't finished.
Anyway - I've added the details about the baths that I was waiting for, added the thing about the smell of the town, and tidied it up with some headers as it's a bit longer now.
If anyone *is* still reading, I would appreciate someone having a look at it before I tell the Eds it's now ready.

Hi Mina, looking good.
Just a couple of things I noticed:
In the first line, you changed the bit about being a new town - but you forgot to change it later under Local History. It says "Despite being a new town..."
Then at the end of the next paragraph, I think "under floor" should have a hyphen. But that's all

Thanks very much, I've changed those now.
If there are no more comments by the morning I'll tell the Eds it's ok to go.

Looks good to me
Something I found myself wondering in passing is if it is more or less a self-contained community as originally planned, or have modern transport links (proximity to A1(M) and semi-fast rail services) turned it into commuterland.
But the only other suggestion I'd make - and this is very optional - is a footnote something like this after the word 'Moorgate':
Except at weekends, when all services start from King's Cross.
I'm sure no-one would really try and visit Welwyn from Central London at the weekend just on our say-so, but if they did I'd hate them to start from the wrong place

Judging from the traffic queues to and from the A1(M) I think it's turned into commuterland, although the town is by no means empty of people who live there - unlike the City of London which goes dead. One person I work with does live in the town and she's always complaining that there's nothing much to do there in the evenings apart from pubs.
Key: Complain about this post
