smiley - bigeyes I'll be in Port Nolloth later this year if all goes well...our bike club members ride through there to get to Alexander Bay to earn their extreme rider Western point. We've been going there for two years now...even made it into the "Going nowhere...slowly" TV program where we were last in town.

Well, well...Delicia's from Durbs? smiley - biggrin

Delicia was from PMB for nearly 2 years, until fambly insisted on her making tracks back to Germany ...
PMB was a bit uncongenial for reasons i won't bother you with, so my favourite escape was to the ends of the country in me battered Renault, which incidentally was a most unsuitable car for SA as it kept overheatin

well es i tried to describe in that bitty on Port Nolloth, i acquired a fullblown paranoia in Natal. I'm still very good at locking doors, and i draw raised eyebrows becasue i'm forever searching for a seat with back to wall AND near nearest escape route... didn't help that i had an awful boss in Natal ... still i wouldn't miss the experience for the world ... not repeat it either though...

Good judgement comes from experience, which in turn usually comes from using bad judgement. smiley - zen

South African experience tends to make one rather 'security concious' - no matter where you are. Perhaps we are a phobic nation sometimes...? smiley - yikes

Yes of course you are a phobic nation, and yes they are out to get you!
So you're going to Port Nolloth on bikes! Sounds too wonderful for words. When i went in me car i always had the windows down ... outside towns, that is. No AC for me, thankee very much. Didn't really work in my car anyway...

yes one of them old ones. Broke down a lot, but were easy to fix. Mine always blew the fuses so i went about for 2 years with a 5 centavo coin (they were of aluminium) firmly wedged in the circuits...

smiley - rofl yes that was so. forgot to mention although only 250 cc, the things were somehow leggy like, i barely reached to the ground with me legs, so every tour would start and end with a terrific wobble ...
