There's the Bodega - which is a large, well lit, very modern pub; Dennehys (I think) across the street, which is far more traditional; The Franciscan Well, which is Cork's only Microbrewery. The Grapevine is also a nice pub close to Patrick Street. My favourite is The Franciscan Well.

Having read Skankyrich's entry on the Porterhouse in Dublin, I fancy going to a microbrewery as well.

What we did at the Dublin meet was to have two cultural events in the afternoon, then food at about 6, followed by a visit to a bar.

A visit to the gallery should definitely be on your itinerary then and I will check to see if there is anything special planned for that day.

Depending on what type of food people are interested there are a few options which are not too expensive - There is the Oz Cafe on the Grand Parade which provides tasty American/Aussie style food; Luigi Malone's is similar; Cafe Paradiso which is strictly vegetatian but very nice I'm told; Milanos for Pizza and pasta; Ristorante Rossini also for Italian food - service can vary here though. The Gingerbread Man or the Strasbourg Goose near Paul St. are good options during the day. There are also Thai, Indian, Chinese and Japanese restaurants, but they are a bit more pricey.

Could I suggest we eat in Milano's in Oliver Plunkett St. around 6pm? It's not too expensive, fairly informal and a nice atmosphere. There are other options if you would prefer something else.

Just in case there are others meeting up earlier, a good place to meet would be outside Easons in Patrick St. It's very easy to find.

Hmmm - no postings for the last two weeks...
I was just wondering if you have decided on any plans for the afternoon yet?

At the moment, there are only two of us scheduled to be there in the afternoon, Azara and me. Since we'll be travelling to Cork together, we can just do whatever we feel like on the day, such as wandering through the English market.
Woodpigeon will be joining us later and Zanatic supposes he'll show up.

Well, I will be showing up tomorrow. Not sure what time though, I am meant to be studying.

It's likely that I will be able to finish up somewhat early. I'll make contact as soon as my course has ended. We're still down to meet at Milano's at 6.00pm.
