Ooooh, yes! Glad to see some discussion on it here.
Overall I was gripped, although I had a couple of gripes: the statistics quoted were "kills 90% of the population". From the empty streets and absence of cars I'd have though it looked more like 99.99%.
Where was it set? I though most of the action was in London, including the rich playboy in his Audi, but then at the end he said he was going to make his way to London.....
But looking forward to part 2 tonight!

Yes i would have thought that at leased 99.99% had been killed off maybe it was because it had not finished infecting people at that point but if 10% of British population was still alive that would mean millions* would still be alive yet in the 1970 series less then 10,000 had thought to survive?
I think it was set in Manchester but THE LIGHTS OF LONDON was one of my favorite story,s from the 70,s series.
*6.058,730 going by 2006 census

Well they did say last night that less then one percent had survived so that would be about right.
The only thing wrong is they seem to be rushing though the stories with just 6 episodes they seem to be trying to cover all 13 stories from the 1970,s series.

I can't remember the last one in that much detail! So the 2 stories last night - little girl in family isolated from human contact, plus Mrs Government in the converted eco-centre resorting to killing - were separate episodes previously?

Well there are changing a lot of it they were from two episodes but in the 70's series it took them a lot longer to meet up and they were looking for Peter for most of the first series.
They just seem to have settled down a lot quicker.
