I'm setting up a stall providing essential equipment for all the novice festivalgoers who will undoubtedly arrive without a tent, sleeping bag, umbrella, rubber waders or their own portable toilet... anything else I should sell them?

Only if the park is located in the UK. I happen to be at the (New) Jersey shore, were it's warm and sunny and humid with the occasional afternoon thunderstorm. Where comedians continue to insist the mosquito is our state bird! 
But this is H2G2... can't Demon Drawer (as the Thread Moderator Responsible for Continuity) unilaterally declare the weather for the event?
Then you'll know whether you should stock up on rubber waders or sunscreen. And you shouldn't have to worry about discounting the overstocks after the event!

OK we need some rain at the mud pit which I'll create tomorrow as no festival is complete without a muddy area. However the weather will be fine elsewhere, how about that guys.

Don't forget clean water, antiseptic and clean bandages and dressings - very important for people to wash and dress any cuts or grazes very carefully.
