Thanks, Titania.
This bit again, in a more timely fashion this time round...

Off to Berlin until Monday and to Stuttgart on Wednesday; I'll see whether I can think of/remember any more tricks!

I apologize for not commenting earlier - I did read this some days ago too. No excuse, I'm afraid. Except that I'm just worthless.
You've covered all the points I can think of, and then some
Since you seem to like footnotes, and who doesn't, you might consider footnoting "Guide entries":
>>Print out any relevant Guide entries - they'll make good reading on the way there, if nothing else<<
with "Like this one. Go ahead, print it out. It's really relevant."
just a thought.
>>Be prepared for buskers, beggars, and pickpockets.<<
Surely buskers shouldn't be classed with beggars and pickpockets should they?
Incidentally, you might consider putting as the last bullet in Public Transportation this one:
o Do Not Fall Asleep!
as doing so is one of the best ways I can think of to get lost.
In the How to Get Rid of It section - it might be worth noting that while places like McDonalds are terrible places to obtain food, they're excellent places to get rid of it. It's because they're ubiquitous I suppose.
>>It is usually advisable to void chains <<
*avoid*
One really good reason for traveling alone, btw, it that you are really forced to talk to locals which is great. In a group you can largely avoid this.
>>You can't eat a whole loaf of bread or packet of crisps in one sitting alone - but a group will demolish it quickly and split the cost.<<
I laugh at this - Ha Ha! Can't eat a whole loaf of bread indeed - what a notion.
This is the only really noticeable bit of gender bias in the entry, btw.
(can't eat a whole loaf of bread - that is so precious )
Great Work!

More like a cultural bias - have you *seen* German bread?
Thanks for the comments. Will go adjust this entry when I have the time later, thought of a few more things to add, too

(Got things to add, so please don't pick yet! I've been warned it might happen)

(it was a rye bread with a bullet-proof crust)

Changes made, including those suggested by pailaway. (Though I did keep the buskers, beggars, and pickpockets together - beggars aren't pickpockets, either, and it's often hard to draw the line between buskers and beggars!) As for the bread, the footnote does say "or shouldn't" )
Also put spaces between the list points for better readability. (Gotta love search and replace!)
I think it's pretty much ready now.

I love footnote no. 7! I know there were a lot of discussions about h2g2 researcher ID cards in the past, when h2g2 was hosted by TDV.
Congratulations - Your Entry has been Picked for the Edited Guide!

Your Guide Entry has just been picked from Peer Review by one of our Scouts, and is now heading off into the Editorial Process, which ends with publication in the Edited Guide. We've therefore moved this Review Conversation out of Peer Review and to the entry itself.
If you'd like to know what happens now, check out the page on 'What Happens after your Entry has been Recommended?' at EditedGuide-Process. We hope this explains everything.
Thanks for contributing to the Edited Guide!
