Hi Kaiser,
OK, good start, but it needs a lot more. Take a look on some of the other edited guide entries- they're about a page in length, and contain a lot of useful information. You have a good start here, but keep going.
-How do you keep a diary?
-What do you put in a diary?
-Why do people keep diaries?
I wrote something a while back about keeping a geological field notebook. You might want to use that for a jumping-off point. A2939501- have a look.
Anyway, good luck!

You could also talk about famous diaries, how diaries help us see how life has been previously, you could mention the Bridget Jones' Diaries by Helen Fielding, perhaps how many teenagers keep diaries filled with angst and fever, whilst small children often have ones that say "had beans for dinner".

How 'bout some historical diaries, like Samuel Pepys' famous diary? I personally find Samuel Pepys' diary *very* interesting.
Just remember, Kaiser, that the main function of the Edited Guide is to be an encyclopedia. So you want your entries to be as factual and informative to others as possible. Just keep working with that goal in mind, and you'll do well!
