Snow in the UAE

Just over a month ago snow fell on two consecutive nights in the mountains of Ras Al Khaimah in the United Arab Emirates for the first time ever! The locals were astounded. This is an example of a weather extreme if ever there was one! This is in a place (UAE) where summer temperatures can get to 50 degrees.

I'd like to point out two things: firstly, summer and winter temps are unrelated. It's winter tempereatures that matter, not summer ones.
And secondly, the claim first time ever could be a bit exagerated. After all temperature mesurements and weather reports have only been gathered for the last 150 or so years (maybe even less in the UAE). So it might verywell have snowed before, it maybe just wasn't recorded.
That said, COOL. sounds like fun
