I hope you get a good school placement as that can affect your whole experience of learning to teach. It can male you love or loath it.

working in a school I would say you are correct TB, plus the teacher has to understand the concept of 'give them an inch and they will take a mile' obvious I know but it seems to slip by most. Because they are not 'engaged' because learning is so much harder these kids will do anything to disrupt the class SO MAKE LEARNING EASIER AND MORE FUN!!!! DER NOT ROCKET SCIENCE!

Yep. My first placement when I was doing teavher training was so bad that it put me off to the point where I had to give up. The staff's attitude caused exactly that kind of behaviour. My teaching style was completely different and I engaged the less able kids a lot more and got more work out of them, but my teaching style was not aproved of so they didn't like me being there and I think the fact that I was getting more work out of "the trouble makers" made it worse.

Keep the advice coming guys!
I helped out with the bottm set group when I was in the sixth form and the teacher wasfantastic and made a vry good job keeping it entertaining. in my interview I was asked how i would make it more interesting for the less able children. they thought my ideas were great and said part of the teacher training is to give me more ideas.
I cant wait to start!
