Hey, Lisa:
Have been transplanted from my hometown (Bonn) to Göttingen, so I sort of share your lot (advantage: stayed in my native country, disadvantage: looks like it´s gonna be for good). Actually, I´m only posting this to give you a big bunch of Göttingen-love and to ask you to include the Cheltenham-House in your list of places to see. It´s not particularly interesting, I admit, but at least for people from Cheltenham it should be worth a visit.
By the way, it used to host the coolest videoshop in town, with an unusually wide range of English (languagewise, i.e. including American) films. The videoshop moved across the street now (Friedrichstr. 3/4), so the Cheltenham-House has lost some of its attraction. But it is - as far as I know - the only really obvious sign of the link between our towns.

And there's a signpost when you enter Cheltenham that lists G ttingen as one of the twin-towns.
I think when I went to G ttingen, they showed us the Cheltenham-House, they definitely mentioned it.. We were taken round the town by a girl from the university.
Thanks for that info, I'll add it soon
