Well done; a good start. If you shorten the complaining bit at the beginning (although it is thoroughly justified ), *I* would accept it as an approved guide entry. I'm not one of the editors, though.

Don't know if you would still be interested or not, but the article defining the word Pagan is now finished (i think). I would like to hear what you think... though I'm not sre what part is the 'complaining bit'...

Now that I look again, *I'm* not sure what the "complaining bit" is either. An informative article.

This is an awesome article...very non-biased, the aritcle, not my opinion.
With good straight forward, explinations like this, I think we can help get the word pagan a little bit better reputation. Clear up some misconceptions and the like.
Keep writing really good stuff Zen!

I said I'd read your article!
I think it's brilliant and, like Pattern Chaser, I would approve it if I was an Editor.
Where did you get the bit about Pagan meaning country dweller from? It sounded familiar...
A really good article. Some people are so ignorant! Someone walked up to me once and asked me "Aren't you Pagan?"
"Yes," I replied.
"Isn't that all broomsticks and stuff?"
*groans*
I'm Wiccan and even that doesn't involve broomsticks for anything other than it is sometimes used to sweep the area before circle casting.

Well its just etymology & history. The origins of the word is etymology. The way it came to be used is history. Not sure where I picked it up originaly. I think it was when I was a Jesus Freak, and was very into looking at the original Greek & Hebrew of the bible to understand its meaning.
Indeed. That is the most common misconception about the word Pagan: that it is synonymous with Wiccan.
Just remember boys & girls: All Wiccans are Pagan, but all Pagans are not Wiccan.

Wise words, Zen.
(What's your name? You can remain anonymous if you want but I don't like screen names. I think I shall change my name to Jo. )
My friend Zoe says that atheism is a very immature way out. I used to be an atheist. Zoe used to be an atheist. Now I'm Wiccan and she's christened a Catholic.

Zen & ZenMondo are just as "real" names to me as what is on my birth certificate. I am who I choose to be, and I also choose the labels that describe me. Though if you just click on my name here, it will take you to my h2g2 homespot and there you will see all the names I work under. (There is even a picture!)
Atheism isn't an easy path in my opinion. Many Atheists become so after much soul-searching. You should check out the Freedom From Faith Foundation (there is a link on my homespot). Atheism is often a topic there.
The only easy path is one that you set upon without much thought.

Ah Jo, don't be so worried. I wasn't offended in the least. I was just expressing my view of identity labels. No big thing. If your ideas are different from mine, that's a groovy thing, and it will never stand in the way of us being friends.
