Has anyone got anything unusual growing in thier garden?

I ask because i have.
Last year a 'Common spotted orchid' appeared in my grass, it was a real find for me. This year its bigger and stronger. I'm looking forward to seeing it flower again. smiley - biggrin
This year, 2 more unknown plants have appeared. They have just started to bud, and have all the hallmarks of another type of orchid or Heliborine. I'm not sure if its unusual for this to happen, or whether being organic is a contributing factor. Either way, i feel very proud that these plants have chosen my garden to settle in. smiley - biggrin

I'm not really here

I don't think I've got anything that unusual, but I do grow mostly native and wildlife plants, so my garden looks unusual.

I think some of the native plants are very pretty. I particulary like Yellow toadflax, though it does have a tendancy to take over an area.

It saves a hell of a lot of time if they do it themselves. smiley - biggrin

I've finished work now, so I've got plenty of time to plant out all the seedlings, so I was very disappointed that it had been so dry. I couldn't dig holes in the ground! Luckily it rained most of Sunday night, so I got J's sunflowers in the ground, also some cerinthe that I'd been given as free seeds. Only three plants made it, but they ar the right colour, so they've gone in.

I've got loads of borage plants though. Far too many to plant, so I'm going to give some away to freinds and family, and the rest I'll stick in teh front garden as 'free to a good home but 20p for the pot wouldn't go amiss'. I live opposite a shop, so there are plenty of passers-by. If anyone here wants a few plants, I'd be happy to post a few!

Also tomatoes waiting to get big enough to go out, some fennel to get off the living room windowsill, and something else that I can't spell that needs to be potted up. It's probably a bit late now to sow anything else, but I'll have a good rummage through my seeds. smiley - biggrin

kelli - ran 2 miles a day for 2012, aiming for the same for 2013

We might have unusual things, but given that I don't know what half the stuff is that grows in my garden I wouldn't be able to identify them!

Several things came up this year that weren't there last year which is a bit odd, but I put it down to the fact that one of the over-stocked beds was in desperate need of some food - I covered it in compost last autumn and am reaping the benefits now smiley - magic Got some lovely things that look a bit like irises in the shape and colour of the flower but that seem to be a perrenial. They are lovely but will have to browse around some flower pics to see if I can see anything similar.

We starting planning the total garden makeover at the weekend - good job our garden is big because we've go so many ideas it is difficult to pick one style...

Last year was the first year I started playing with the wee bit of ground we have here. I grew some things from seed and maybe they'll flourish this year, maybe not! It's the wee crazy crossbreads I can't wait to see.

There's a rampant clover with a pink flower I can't dig out. It covers up bare bits and it pays for its keep. Good luck to it, I say!

I like clover, but it is the one thing that I will treat as a 'weed' if it grows in the lawn. It's very pretty, and bees love it - which is not what you want when you're wandering around with bare feet, or the kids are in the paddling pool.
