h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Tonight's the start of a new series of Gardener's World. Anyone watch it much?

The problem is with it being on on a Friday night I'm often in the pub when it is on!

I might tape the series this year though. It seems to be one of the better gardening things on tv. I'm doing this RHS course, and a lot of the time it crops up "Did you see what Monty Don did on GW last friday..."

I caught bits and pieces last year though, and it seemed pretty informative.

They're doing this "Viewer's Garden" thing too this year. The viewers choose a style of garden,like veggies or a seaside garden or whatever, and they'll chose the most popular and make one in that theme.

I emailed in favour of a natives garden, so it'll be interesting to see if they've taken a blind bit of notice!

They've always put it on at the wrong time for me - at the same time as EastEnders usually, or when I want to watch something else. I did watch it when Monty Don first took over (I spoke to him on email once, when I worked at the Beeb!), but watching gardening seems a bit like watching people doing aerobics and thinking you've had a workout.

Know what you're getting at there actually! I like to watch it from time to time though just to see what is going on. Anyway the viewers garden thing has a jungle theme. So I suppose they got as far away as possible from my native idea!
