I intend to take advantage of coming by train to recycle some of my English books in Reims
I was going to bring you a large grammar book. If you really can't make it, please let me know a couple of days in advance the next time you're going to Sheffield and I'll bring it there by train
if you don't make it, there'll be floods of tears in this house

I'm so sorry, it's really looking as though I'm not going to make it
there have been more than a few on my side but it's looking more and more impossible
My intention is to be in Sheffield in October - but I wouldn't bank on that since my car conked out I need to save for a replacement
Aside of all that: how are you?

arthritis is taking a larger and larger toll of my right hand. I am treating it with ultrasound and knitting. Good excuse not to do any housework.

I didn't know that knitting is good for arthritis. I'm a very slow knitter and usually only do it in the winter as otherwise my hands get too sweaty. On the other hand an excuse not to do housework is nominally ok.
As you probably saw on the other thread RL has intervened and I won't be coming to France. Next time I'm visiting my mum I'll let you know and we can arrange to meet up - either at your end or in Sheffield. I'd like to introduce you to my mum, you might find you get on well.

thinking of you this morning as I do some last-minute cramming and drinking redbush/orange/chili tea out of my lovely Student Mug.
