but Pratchett, CS Forrester and then there is Bernard Cornwell because he is a historian as well as a writer.
I don’t like Sharp much though I don’t know why perhaps the television spoilt it.

whereas for me... the (early) TV show enhanced my enjoyment (knowing that Sharpe looks a lot like a young(er) Sean Bean...)
