well, obviously I can't tell you about my Army job on account of I'd have to hunt everyone down and kill them all if they read it...
plus it's so far in the past that it's not relevant
Currently (and for the last 7.5 years) I've worked in the European branch of a Korean/Dutch joint-venture. Which is interesting from a "culture shock" or "clash of cultures" point of view...
actually, come to think of it, I'm very very boring!

The only boring people I know are the ones who are convinced that they are extremely interesting!
I wouldn't ask you to break the official secrets act, so we'll stick to the civvie job .

hehehe
actually Margaret Thatcher was the one who actually mentioned our job in the House of Commons (while I was doing something else) which prompted me to go "hey, I want to do that"
And actually I did several different jobs in the Army, which weren't particularly run-of-the mill - especially for "lady soldiers" at the time. It's not how it is now, though, so it's only relevant as a historical thing, or to have a laugh.
So, I'll let you choose. Actually, even though it was only 6 years, 17 years ago (I joined in 1984) it is still the job that I loved best - and was more about a whole life than a 9 to 5.
hmmmmmmm that's odd.
Sorry, can we go with the Army? <---(peace offering)

You on a diet?
Ok well, we can do it here or by email. I just did Matt's on his PS, but then I thought lots of people might have already read it by the time it hits , so it might be an idea to do it offsite!
If you'd rather do it here that's no prob though. Otherwise email me [email protected] (my email address for hootoo stuff) and we'll get cracking

sent you a mail...
and yes, I have to lose weight. I'm trying not to eat junk, and do more sport, but basically I'm too greedy and lazy for that to work

Got it!
I'm trying to put on weight myself - begining to wonder if I have a tape worm, since everything I eat leaves me at the same weight!

Sho - employed again! Posted Jul 21, 2007
really? tape-worm?
I think my shock from standing on the scales at the beginning of the week was due to water retention or something since I'm now 2kg down (although I did do two lots of running this week)

btw, have I missed something, I can't find your thing with Matt in the Post

No, Matt's will be in Thursday's edition.
Just joking about the tapeworm. If I have a tapeworm I'm going to sue my dog for compensation for all that bloody worming stuff I buy for him!
I'd like to put a fair bit of weight on so I can start exercising without losing too much weight. Like butter spread over too much bread - no doubt you'll get the ref

I'll look out for it then
you need to put on weight because you are feeling all thin and stretched? you need lots of mushrooms, matey, and don't forget second breakfast
OK then
KB Posted Jul 26, 2007
Mushrooms? Huh? I thought they had next to damn all nutrition wise. What do I want all them for?
OK then
KB Posted Jul 26, 2007
Bagels are a pretty good way of getting a lot of calories in a small amount.

Sho - employed again! Posted Jul 26, 2007
ah, mushrooms was a bit more esoteric than the bread & butter thing?
but yes, bagels are fantastic, i wish we could get them here

OH...I think I now vaguely remember a chapter titled 'a shortcut to mushrooms'! That's the only bell it rings though.
Hey, if you like I'll send you out an emergency Brit ex-pat food package.
