I think it was - I can't remember where it was that I saw you are in Windsor though...
Maybe the condlence thread for Annie's dad?
I have a lot of affection for Windsor, I spent about 4 years there as a kid (2nd year Junior school and my first year at Windsor High School)
Cycling round the Great Park with my friend for hours & hours on Sunday, walking to school, my first solo shopping trip to Slough on a Green Bus, the view from the bottom of Peascod street, Browns department store, the coffee roasting shop... spending all my pocket money in the little book shop...

I think it was that thread, yes
Not a great deal has changed here really, when were you there from/until
I was in Peascod St yesterday, it was jam packed with nutty shoppers, so we left quickly and walked along the river instead
, there were still nutty people there also but with more to room

we got there in about 1973 and left in 1977. My dad was stationed at Combemere Barracks (where the horses are/were) out by the Great park. In fact, when we first lived there, what became the Reading Festival used to be on, and I was warned against turning out like "those people"
I must have heard some great bands as I lay awake at night - and used to remind myself about the dire warnings of my dad as I wandered about rock festivals in later years.
