I like the idea that I'm a sorta-near-sista. That about sums up my attitude (real Sistas don't make the most of their... ahem... attributes in the way I do, apparently )
Your trip to UK sounds fantabulous - although I'm not sure about an over-nighter in Manchester (coming, as I do, from the best part of the country)
20years is really worth celebrating though
This year, due to a family wedding in Wales, we are actually planning a 2-ish week holiday in England/Wales ourselves. The Gruesomes are completely excited, but I'm not so keen on being down south! (although at least we might get some sun, sea and sand that way)

I grew with a pair of sisters, one older, one not. You're welcome to the both of them. And some days, you can have the 3 brothers too.
So you too shall do a bit of the travels, eh? It must be the year for it. I'll otherwise spend atleast 16 or so weeks on the road for work.

Compliments of the <./>FrontPage</.>, I wandered off to azahar's PS. Somewhere I haven't been for ages. That took me to a list of her pictured friends, another place I haven't been for a year or more. I was somewhat surprised to notice that two pics that had been there are now absent.
But mostly, I was surprised to see that you don't appear at all frightening and intimidating. Nawwww, not at all surprised, really.

hehehe
I was on my best behaviour for my dad's 65th birthday party in that one
charming his daft mates
but you can see my tattoo (well one of them) I think!
oh no
now I have to go back and find the missing pics?

Rev Nick { Only the dead are without fear } Posted May 23, 2007
No need to hunt for missing pics. They were ones that I submitted very soon after she began the project. For a time, I believe myself and my bride-daughter were frame #16. I've been selectively deleted.

Odd things, often inexplicable, happen around the internet, eh? I no longer try to guess the why's or how-comes stuff. It could be enough to turn an old guy grey(er).

Just a coupla little thingie-bobs ...
Congrats and really well done on the giving of a pint of life. Some folks can not, because of nature and health concerns. Others because of personal fears and insurmountable phobias. So every bit helps.
And I do hope that you aren't offended that I unsubscribed from your Mini-Meet journal quite early. There is absolutely no possibility of me attending, so I stepped aside to let the rest of you hopefully work up a wonderful time amongst yourselves.
Oh, ... and just as a meaningless side tid-bit ... I find myself a couple of thousand miles from home, and somehow short of one day's worth of shirts. How-ever, as my normal sleep attire when on the road is a blue T-shirt with the h2g2 ensign ... THAT shall be my wear for today. Who knows? I might actually meet someone who knows what it means, even though I am a dozen miles north'ish of Jaz'd and anhaga.

no probs with unsubbing - I never have a problem with it, and it never occurs to me that people might be offended that I do it a lot myself.
jealous of your hootoo t-shirt - you will report back if anyone mentions it?
So excited now, in one week I'll already be in UK...

There was a morning, sometime in January of '06, ... I was showered and set for my working day. Milady was attending to her day-beginning business, when I mentioned that "Oh, B'Elana and her hubby ought to be on a plane by now ...". It was their day of travels to a Winter Meet, and I was still very much in-touch.
Milady pondered for merely seconds (as wimmens do !!!) and suggested an idea, ... Since "lil ol' me" and hubby were no longer likely to come here, and share 20th anniveraries by travelling a bit of this country, ... Why don't we go there? And so the whole idea began in moments.
But that Meet was still generous. My best-on-hootoo friend was one of the team that won the "Challenge" quiz, a T-shirt and a pin-badge. An enamelled one !!! Since the shade of blue, and the size of the T-shirt, was not to her taste, my friend sent me the shirt and the common attendance pin-badge. Clever Lady that she is, she kept the prettier enamelled one for herself.

oh that was generous.
I must admit that when I met B'Elana and MMF last year I was quite of their t-shirts and badges.

Rev Nick { Only the dead are without fear } Posted Jun 24, 2007
I really haven't had cause or place to wear the pin-badge. Maybe one day, somewhere ...
Meanwhile, a few little "gifty" things have crossed the waters, so maybe the T-shirt has seen some equitable trade value. I HAVE kept her in-supply of 'turtles'.

totally mental
oh and I haven't forgotten that things should wing from me to you - I just haven't seen anything worth winging over ... yet.

I think that it was just a happy coincidence that when the caramel, pecans, peanuts and then chocolate stuff went SPLAAAT on the first sheet, it sorta looked like a turtle, legs, head, shell, ... all of that. But they ARE really yummy.

Dang but you ain't trained some young 'uns to dust here, have you?
Any-who ... Just thought I'd mention that even in the darker worlds of employment, miracles can happen. Milady, who has endured a variant of Hades for over 2 years, begins a new zone this week-end. And she seems 15 years younger for it.
So please, never lose heart or faith, good Lady.

Woo hoo!!!! for her
Well, boss-man had my crying in the loo again last week
so I'm back on the intensive job-hunting -but I suspect I'm too old and too expensive for a lot of these firms.
But "where there's hope, there's life" as they say!
You're off to Blighty next month, eh?
Are you excited yet?

Sadly, some of us are getting to an age where prospective employers think twice. Mind, you ARE still younger than my missus.
And yep, 30 days from today we take the big step across the pond. All hostesses and mates that we expect to meet are still 'lined up', today is our final vaccinations, and we have dragged together most of the money that we expect to be needing. At the end of the day, this 2-week lark is going to cost a very pretty penny.

Exactly our thinking ... We tried to do something special for our 10th, but she found herself in the hospital recovery from very intrusive surgery. Plans were made for a "do" for our 15th, padre inclusive ... and our daughter talks of marrying just then. So, shy of a death in the family, nothing will get in the way of this attempt.
In actual fact, when we count in all of the bits and expenses expected, it's only about $7,000 Cdn. About 4,850-Euro ...

That's not too bad at all, considering it's including trans-atlantic flights for two. You're right not to let anything get in your way, though.
