h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Ceres is currently easily seen with binoculars in the Northern hemisphere, around midnight, just near Leo's bum. It's about magnitude 7.

Dear Zube,

I hope you do not mind me replying to you and asking if I can put your name down as a friend. Those maps of the sky are wonderful. I am a very old hootoo member, but I live right next to the Channel in a fourth floor flat, and when the sky is clear I can see quite a few constellations in the sky. Deke has helped me a lot.

In Africa I used to see and recognise the Southern Cross. Here I have problems recognising anything. !!

Thsanks for the neat map for locating Ceres. Funnily enough that was one of the targets I'd like to add this year. I haven't looked for it yet but I'll give it a try as soon as I get a clearish night.
