It can't be picked unless it is at least seven days old, m'dear. But you can bet your life someone has got their beady eye on it.

A decoction of oil of tansy may cure your excessive commas!

I'd remove all the commas in the following:

country, no longer
to the colonies, took
interest in, and knowledge of herbal usage, declined

Typos:

2000 years ago --> 2,000 years ago
passed on the the British --> passed on to the British
town within within the country --> towns within the country
refridgeration --> refrigeration

Choice of words:

"outwith" is an unusual word which is not in my dictionary. I suggest you change it to "outside of"

I won't get into a fight between the Scots and the English as to what is correct British English.

Homer's Odyssey which was probably written in about 900 BC, has a good quote about growing medicinal herbs in Egypt.

"Egypt, where the plough-lands excel other plough-lands of earth in bearing abundance of medecines: of which some when compounded are healing and others baneful"

Your Guide Entry has just been picked from Peer Review by one of our Scouts, and is now heading off into the Editorial Process, which ends with publication in the Edited Guide. We've therefore moved this Review Conversation out of Peer Review and to the entry itself.

If you'd like to know what happens now, check out the page on 'What Happens after your Entry has been Recommended?' at EditedGuide-Process. We hope this explains everything.

Thanks for contributing to the Edited Guide!
