The worst i've ever had was when i drank (whilst half asleep) some Ribena i had put by the bed in case i felt thirsty in the night. I remember it fizzed as i opened it, but tasted fine.
I suppose i must have put it there some days back & it fermented.
Anyway, around 6am; i got exactly what you describe above. i've been extremely careful about bedside drinks ever since!
