Well-crafted entry GB smiley - ok Just a couple of points:

<> I think it worth stating the seemingly obvious that Sinatra's album was entitled , if not inline then perhaps as a footnote?

I would combine the last three sections into a single section, Legacy smiley - towel

Terrific! smiley - ok

I don't really have any useful suggestions.

When I read "he was demobbed in 1953" I wondered if that's what non-fans do to non-celebrities. Was he mobbed later to make up for it?

McKay The Disorganised

A truely great singer ~ so natural and so smooth - far superior to Sinatra. I've had his voice in my head reading this Babe - I'll have to dig out the old vinyl.

Took me back - smiley - ok

Gnomon - time to move on

You say the Beatles released "Yesterday" in 1976. I'm not a Beatles expert but I thought they broke up around 1970. Did you mean to say 1966?

Post 18

No, I didn't mean 1966. You're correct that The Beatles broke up around 1970. "Yesterday" charted in 1976, for the first time as a single. Back in the USSR charted for the first time in 1976 as well, I think it's a business thing, called releasing the back catalogue, but I know nothing of the music business goings-on.

Gnomon - time to move on

Ah I see. I had the "Oldies but Goldies" album in the early 70s and I didn't realise that the Yesterday on it had not yet been released as a single.

Wonderful entry. Like Paily, I never knew I know so many of his songs.

A few nitpicks:

smiley - musicalnoteHe was the fifth child of a factory worker, Fred, and his wife Alice.smiley - musicalnote - wouldn't it read better as: ... of factory worker Fred and his wife Alice.?

smiley - musicalnote Back home Terry met Iris and they got married. smiley - musicalnote Iris who?

smiley - musicalnote daughter Michele smiley - musicalnote is it really Michele, not Michelle?

smiley - musicalnotehas the ability to transform the listener to another place and time.smiley - musicalnote I'm not sure that transform works in this context. Maybe transpose would fit better?
