A Conversation for Historical Re-enactment

I thought the Sealed Knot were just a booze and bash organisation . At least they were 10 years ago when I was a member, I had some of the best weekends of my life, camped in the middle of no where drinking ourselves silly. We only when on the battlefield (sober mind you) because in those days the pubs weren't open all day. I learnt a bit about the history but made soon great friends.

Hmm... I wouldn't like to try and re-enact a famous battle against some drunkards with pikes... swaying around and poking my eyes out.
Luckily, I'm not in the Sealed Knot. Though I live right next to a historical site, Old Basing House...

Quite.
Worse thought: drunken barber/surgeon cutting off your limbs without anesthetic and a spoon in your mouth...

Old Basing, I've fought a few re enactment there in my time, and drank more than a few beers at the Millstone, (I beleive that was the pubs name), I even got dragged into Basingstoke for a drink in the Bass House and then on to Martines but that's another story

Ooh, I wouldn't delve too far into Basingstoke town centre if I were you.
What other town do you know of that has a giant stone penis in one of it's main shopping streets?
I kid thee not.
