Mark,
You have me worried that I am going to fly to Birmigham and end up in Liverpool now will have to check this out.
The smileys? they work much the same as on the foodie board but there are tons more of them.
For instance grin you put that in between the brackets < biggrin > < hug > < headhurts > < ale > < dragon > and my favourite < tardis > .

If peeps are flying into Birmingham International it's about a 15 min train ride into the city centre, you would need to take the sky-ride monorail thing from the terminal to the train station/nec.
If a few of you are arriving at the same time I could even pop to the airport in my car and pick you up and deliver you to your accomodation.
I'm nice like that.

Oh I remember doing the air rail thing when I flew to/from Belfast it's p**s easy getting from the airport to the City Centre.
Doubt you'll have any problems unless you're a complete numpty when it comes to public transport!

No I am pretty good at negotiating public transport - is the rail thing you are talking about that Mono rail that you see in Corrie - I think Ashley's wife drove it.
We have something like that in Dublin called the LUAS and its dead easy as long as you dont miss your stop.
I think Mark I (and maybe OH ) may be coming in on the same day but dont know about flights - I will ring him on Friday when I am booking.
Getting all excited - sorry grasshopper.

Th rail thing is quite spacey I thought! It's not driven by anyone! Spooky!
Just goes to and from the station and the airport...runs every minute or something like that I think. And it's signposted at both ends so you can't miss it.

The monrail takes about 3 minutes.
The trains from Brum INTL to Brum NS take about 10-15 mins if you get on a virgin as they don't stop at all the small stations.

I now have that mono rail song from the Simpsons stuck in my head .
Oh No Have I doomed the trip now that I have mentioned that Monorail episode. Where there is a bomb on the mono rail and it cant go to slow or the bomb will go off!!

You may have to come over to the aiport with the curry and beer supplies

Booti, I'm sorry to do this but you may have to find someone
else to share.

money mainly, but other reasons I can't go into

bootiful_heffalump Posted Mar 5, 2008

Princess
That is such a pity - has someone else upset you on the boards as I notice that you have not been on the Chatterbox much today.

I think maybe Spangle could come round with a little persuasion!
It just won't be the same without her
BRUM MEET
oxfordian Posted Mar 5, 2008
Spangle, I'm really sorry to learn that you can't make it
IS there anything that can be done to make you change your mind?
