I've heard of him (Educating Archie, wasn't it), but don't actually remember him. Radio Ventriloquism always struck me as a strange idea. The whole point of ventriloquism is speaking without moving your lips, and on the radio you can't see whether this is happening.

Odd what keeps (some of) us amused isn't it?
I loved Titch and Quackers by the way.

I can remember them, but only vaguely. They were on when my parents first bought a television, but disappeared soon after (Titch and Quackers, not my parents. Mind you my parents would probably have liked to disappear.)

Ray Allen that was the bloke!
He also had a "lord Snooty" type puppet too.

The ventriloquist for Archie Andrews was Peter Brough.
I don't know whether he moved his lips when on the radio, but perhaps he always did, that's why he was on the radio.
Other characters in the show were Beryl Reid ("My names Marlene"), Ken Platt (who?) and I vaguely remember that a very young Julie Andrews may also have been on the show.
It amazes me that I can remember things like that, but can't remember what time I left the pub last night!
