Member of staff is probably best.

Any particular one? Whippers in are the one who round up the stray hounds or the hounds that stray. Field master looks after the riders. and the Huntsman looks after the hounds.

And the master of the hounds blows the horn and tells people to get on with it

I'll be a slow follower, chasing the pack.

I don't mind being staff as long as I get the chance to be on sabatical one week and be the hunted.

So in this context:

Whippers make sure that you don't accuse innocent newbies of being the prey?
The Huntsmans co-ordinates the gathering of clues given by the quarry?
And the field master organises the party at the end?

*enters in elaborate hare costume* Shall I start running yet?

Absolutely every one gets a chance to be hunted! I am going to set the pack up as a researcher and make them the page editor.

Isn't that making things a little obvious?

I think we need clearer codification of the rules for both hunted and hunters ie what we expect each side to do.

Suggestions:

Two options:
1. either the prey shows up here and we have to guess which researcher it is;

or 2. the researcher turns up says he/she/it wants to be followed, makes up a new researcher and plays about until the pack find out which one it is.

I agree the Hounds are hardly sweating yet. I thought the idea was for the hunted to be moving in areas we would be anyway or something like that. Samie seems like a big give away. Unless it's the old double bluff routine.

I'd also suggest we have a time limit, so if you are not discovered you give yourself up. Perhaps a winners enclosure of sorts? That way we keep just the one game going at any one time

Well I suggest that we set a time limit of either a week or a fortnight and that we have one game at a time!

Also are we basing this in our normal forum areas or having seperate ones...??? I'm getting a little confussed....

Abi! Could you finalise some rules??!!!

OK EV sets up an alternative persona and basically hangs out on site posting at least three times a day to obvious places eg Newcomers Welcome etc. Places that we all go to regularly - this forms the trail. The hounds then have two weeks to find him.

EV should keep an eye on the forum for suggestions and will have to own up when found. Whoever gets it right is the next hare. Newbies should not be challenged on their page. This is the only forum to voice suspicions.
