Here's a bit of black comedy:

http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/ap/20050313/ap_on_re_us/sunshine_week_oldest_foia_2

'FBI spokeswoman Megan Baroska told The Associated Press that the agency cannot discuss other people's FOIA requests.

"Basically, the FOIA is a matter between the FBI and Mr. Rosenfeld," she said. "Mr. Rosenfeld could file a request to get further information about his request." '

Remember when a Canadian sniper got into all sorts of trouble for having a single still 'trophy' picture of an enemy corpse in Afghanistan? I'm sorrry, but I can't help but be struck by the extreme lack of discipline in the armed forces of some nations:

Well, just in case the world didn't get the big "up yours" from the White House that was the appointment of John "there is no such thing as the UN" Bolton as Amerika's ambassador to the UN, Dubya has thrown all pretense of dipolomacy out the window and nominated Paul Wolfowitz as World Bank governor. If third world countries want debt relief they better quit the world criminal court now and start sending troops to Iraq.

Or, we could all just say "we're not going to make our payments, Wolfowitz Bank. what are you going to do? Reposess us all? You and who's army (since the American one can't hold on to a pissant chunk of desert, let alone the whole friggen world)? Or maybe we'll just go and ask China to lend us some money: they should be able to find enough by calling in all their loans to the U.S. smiley - tongueout"

this is probably one of those links I shouldn;t post because one shouldn't waste bandwidth on them. Dunno if you have encountered them.
But:
http://www.politixgroup.com/221.htm
What got me was first part of the second paragraph:
"Objective sociological examination teaches that the Judeo-Christian ethic has enabled the nations employing it as their organizational belief system to ascend to unprecedented spiritual and material prosperity because of that worldview’s ability to balance the potentially competing needs of the individual with those of the group."

Which such an enclosed view that it beggars belief.

Ah well, forgo the insults for posting crud, I know, I know...

I was going to post something from Truthout.org, but I've been having computer trouble. I recommend checking it every day, however.

I'm going to try to look at your link, Ictoan. It looks to be both amusing and enraging.smiley - smiley

Oh yes had forgotten that.

But won;t the Zionist conspiracy stop it? After all, the Jews are in control of the world aren;t they?

No, no! The Zionist conspiracy is doing God's work by returning the Jews to Zion. The Tribes must be gathered before the second coming. Oh, sorry, Second Coming. That's why the American Religious Right is so supportive of whatever the Israeli Government does.

This is one that is of interest to me:

'A study on the impact of genetically modified (GMO) crops on wildlife has found birds and bees are more likely to thrive in fields of natural rapeseed than GMO seed.'

http://english.aljazeera.net/NR/exeres/A9319F39-404D-4421-8E95-9B0185A0CB23.htm

Gee. Surprise, surprise. If your GM crop isn't killed by Roundup but weeds are, you end up using more Roundup and the bio-diversity of your field drops.

Well, this is just bizzare! It seems conspiracies really do exist. Big conspiracies.

'Italian newspapers reported this week that newly discovered documents show the attack on the Pope was ordered by the Soviet KGB and organized by the Bulgarian secret service with the help of secret police of former East Germany.

According to Corriere della Sera and La Repubblica, documents found in the archive of the Stasi, the East German secret police, appear to confirm that Bulgarian agents, acting on the orders of their powerful KGB counterparts, used Ali Agca to carry out the attack, while the Stasi was used to coordinate the operation and cover up its traces.
