Nice Entry. Love the cadence of the title. I'll be saying that all day...

Isn't it so that thimbles are one of the artefacts for which an earliest-known example was found in the ruins of Pompeii?

Gnomon - time to move on

Hi Emmily! This is good, although there a lot of minor typos etc. I'll give you a detailed list later (although I may need to be reminded).

You should link to h2g2's entry on Pompeii A371422 rather than to an external site.

I think it would be worth saying a few words in your entry about the purpose of rubber thimbles, rather than just including a link to the rubber thimbles entry.

Something along the lines of "Rubber thimbles are used to increase the finger's grip when handling paper, rather than for protection."

OK, Emmily, I won't mention the typographical problems, except to hint that your use of commas is erratic.

Is the lack of a space between 'kiln' and 'for' something to do with the use of italics (I've come across this phenomenon before, this week).

Wondered whether it might be worth saying that collectors are able to store/display their thimbles in specially made wooden racks. (Mrs RBA does this)

Was there a thimble oinvolved in 'Sleeping Beauty' pricking her finger, and is it worth making reference to this?
