A cheerfully funereal picnic

Does a cartwheel, grabs the ball, bounces it off the umbrella.
Oh, yeah? But this is August, and in August cartwheels trump handstands, so I get my reverse goal back with the extra point for the umbrella. Hah!

Odradek (she who lurks, green Lifesaver-like) Posted Aug 10, 2000
*grabs the umbrella, folds it up, and uses it as a pole to vault over three wickets set in a row. Lands, does a handspring, kicks the ball so it bounces off RB's head*
ln August cartwheels trump handstands, when used in conjunction with umbrellas, ONLY if the umbrella is orange with blue stripes and as you can plainly see, this umbrella is solid-colored and chartruse. Ergo, as penalty for misuse of umbrella, your score now stands at minus eleven points, whereas l am in the lead with seventeen and a Get Out of Jail Free pass....

*strolls up having watched the procedings from a safe vantage point*
Hi, all. My kind of funeral. Sort the h2g2 versoin of an Irish wake.
*rummages about in the cooler and extracts an I.B.C. rootbeer(his favorite) and tips it up*
ahhhh.. Life is good.
I used to think Kamakazi croquet was extreme but, this is by far more fun to watch.
*settles to ground w/rootbeer*

Well I can't beat that! You win, but since it's Wednesday for me and Thursday for you, I don't lose, because you won tomorrow, which means I won today!

Odradek (she who lurks, green Lifesaver-like) Posted Aug 10, 2000
Cheers to that, RB. Truce, my worthy adversary?
*flops down on lawn exhaustedly -- unfortunately landing on a forgotten lawn dart...ow*
*leaps up in pain, extracts dart. Heads for cooler, fashions an icepack for self and grabs a Barq's while she's at it. Holds root beer high in the air*
A toast.
To the confusion of continuitousness!

Truce! A good and worthy game!
Thank you!
*grabs another root beer*

The title says it all, really...
*sips root beer casually. Pours some in a saucer for Dio, who laps it up contentedly*

*enters with a bright red summers dress on....*
so are we allowed to celebrate the possible death of Celery and Webjello??? or is it a private function.....
hmm... i promise i wont try to eat them again... well, at least not in this forum!

Redbeard (Thanks to all who supported The Celery!)) Posted Aug 10, 2000
It's a public park, FC. Pull up a lawn chair and have a root beer!
It's kind of a strange celebration we're having... A funeral picnic with Calvinball and lawn darts for a virtual candidate for a virtual race who chose not to be virtually dead.

Fashion Cat Posted Aug 10, 2000
yeah.. i got very confused.... especiallyy at the point where they decided not to be dead... still i guess one of the pleasures of not being real i guess

Ah, reality on h2g2!
We're just trying to be polite, FC -- if Joe and the C went to the trouble of setting up this thread, the least we could do was to show up on time, even if events didn't go quite the way they planned.
Wasn't that an amazing display of Calvinball by Redbeard and Odra? I was wondering if it would work with more than two players, but the simulposting prospects give me the abdabs.
Celery-Webjello: Putting the "fun" in "funeral"...
Fashion Cat Posted Aug 10, 2000
you're probably right Lil... I mean more than two people would have just been an absolute nightmare...
*imagines it now...* eek!
and i guess you're right. there was a lot put into the assassination attempt... and we almost got there who knows how the next time will go?!

*Rushes in*
Did I miss it? Did I miss it?
*Looks around.*
Where's Joe? Where's Big C? This was supposed to be thier big triumph. I couldn't bear the thought of missing it. Such a hoot! Hey, can I have a root beer, too?
*Reaches into cooler and gets an A&W (fondly remembering the drive-ins and teenburgers). Sits on grass, having forgotten a lawn chair in the rush to get here.*
So, will the procession come in from the left or the right? Are they going to use that flowerbed for the grave site? Oh, and I bet the gazebo is going to act as the chapel, right?
*sits back waiting for the show.*

Witty Moniker Posted Aug 10, 2000
Sheesh! I take a little time off to get some sleep and I miss the Calvinball game. I swear you guys wait 'til I'm gone to start the fun.
*reaches into the cooler, hauls out a keg of Stewart's root beer and a batch of cups*
*pulls a cup full, opens her beach chair and sits down*

Asteroid Lil - Offstage Presence Posted Aug 10, 2000
I had no idea there were so many brands of root beers. Anybody else ever have the real stuff?
Hey guys, if there was to be a memorial here, I'm wondering if we should copy and paste Shazz's post at the banquet -- one of the two copies. Just so everybody realises how things ended. You know, some people don't always read the backlog thoroughly and might think this was a valid line of action or something.

I suggest you post a link to Shazz's post. Those interested parties can then update themselves.

You did indeed, Spjörky.
*snags a cup of Stewarts, sips*
Mm.
They have ordinary beer festivals, y'know...l wonder. Could we have a root-beer festival? Might be a nice way to keep those in the precession process refreshed...
*picks a wildflower and teases Diogenes with it; he pounces and leaps, then gets bored and climbs up in a lawn chair for a nap*

*Dio yawns, stretches, and tumbles down from lawn chair. Gives a cursory parting lick to his root beer saucer and climbs back into the cooler*
