I haven't read through this in detail, but I suggest you mention one fact. Ten pin bowling was invented because nine-pin bowling was made illegal. You can read a bit about this here: http://www.cardhouse.com/x06/intro.htm

Oh felonious! I mentioned this with a bit of poetic prose talking about the move from the diamond of the nine to the triangle of the ten.

Vesty! Nice Entry Makes me wanna head on down me local megabowl on bash the pins!
Things I noticed on further examination:
A brief history
"Descended from a long line of bowling games that go back at least as far as the ancient Egyptians it is more recently descended from Kegal a nine skittle German game which spread across Europe and into America."
as the ancient Egyptians, it is more recently descended from Kegal, a

That's the minor editing out of the way, is it worth mentioning bowling in popular entertainment ie; film, tv, music, the arts etc.
There's films like "KingPin", "the Big Lebowski" and "Buffalo 66" that bring in bowling to the screenplay, then there's TV series, epecially "The Simpsons" which have many bowling themed episodes.
I'm sure I've seen a painting somehwere of dogs bowling, but that might be playing cards, or even both? Can't recall...
I think there's been some songs that mention bowling, perhaps by bands like Half Man Half Biscuit or the Bare Naked Ladies...don't take my word for it...
Then there's arcade games based upon bowling and many modern PC, Playstation and otherwise games have added bowling 'bonus' games - Spider-Man, Monsters Inc and the Crash Bandicoot series springing to mind, I'm sure there's more, especially the fighting series like Tekken and so forth have like games included...
Is it worth mentioning what sort of places you can go bowling at? There's the huge chain arenas like Mega Bowl Supa Bowl Happy Bowl etc, then there's smaller places and league owned arenas, and don't forget Pub Bowling too, the mini aisles have become quite popular, especially in thr esouth of England. Tiny little lanes, tiny little balls and a bar in the basement area of a pub...great fun!
What about when the lanes are darkened and you get glow in the dark glitter balls and shiny little lane markers in dayglo pink or yellow?
And the types of balls? Transparent, sparkly, girls and boys?
Then there's the whole fashion side of bowling, bowling shirts and bowling shoes becoming popular among certain fashion sets during various periods of history...
Just a few more ideas to stir into the pot if you like, great entry though, needs to be in the EG!

Oh, your poetry is way above my head! This one must have passed me by. Apologies.

Yeah, real life can be like that.
If you don't want to deal with us heckling you here, you can certainly withdraw the entry from Peer Review and then pop it back in again when you have more time for it.

You certainly have a couple of entries in PR if I remember rightly so apologies if it seems we are hassling you - it is not intentional - we are just keen to get entries that are good on to the next stage. And you have been so busy writing them that it means you may get a 'nudge' more than most

I think I've done about as much writing as I'm going to do on this. I'd be happy to link to other articles, like the use of Tenpin bowling in the media and such, but my entry was much more about getting people interesting in taking part.
Do I really have to do any more?

Personally I think it's looking good as it is. Your sub may add a few more links in but you don't need to worry about that and as you've said, the article hopes to get people interested rather than providing all covering information on it. This is looking good and I know there are several scouts cruising around PR like the sharks we are
Kat...not currently scouting but still cruising.

Your Guide Entry has just been picked from Peer Review by one of our Scouts, and is now heading off into the Editorial Process, which ends with publication in the Edited Guide. We've therefore moved this Review Conversation out of Peer Review and to the entry itself.
If you'd like to know what happens now, check out the page on 'What Happens after your Entry has been Recommended?' at EditedGuide-Process. We hope this explains everything.
Thanks for contributing to the Edited Guide!
