smiley - wow Yes, actually, Yellowstone is a supervolcano!

The last time it erupted, it took out a 13 mile stretch of a mountain range, and buried Nebraska in 8 feet of ash. It's above a hot spot in the Earth's mantle, meaning it's still active (hence the geysers) and very likely to erupt again! Though it would give some warning, like earthquakes, and likely lava flows before it exploded.
