Well, you apparently miss the point of this exercise then, because it was my *intention* *NOT* to include the option of changing the subject. Perhaps your code will also open a NEW thread every time, in stead of continuously adding to the same one?

I've examined your page in the meantime, and I can say that before creating this little trick, I have gathered exactly the same information that you have compiled there. At that time I didn't know about your page, so I had to dissect the whole process myself.
I have been thinking about putting that same information on my page too, in a TEXTAREA box for easy c&p. However, knowing that you already have a page publishing this information, I think I will just add a link to your article, in stead of duplicating the stuff. Maybe you could put up a link to this page, telling people that they can see one of the possible applications here

Yes, I shouldn't have made it really, (I just couldn't resist ) to go with an article on privacy I wrote a little script to post peoples browser details into a forum

Yeah, that's why I put the smiley-face there
Ofcourse, I can see the humor of it, but to do such a thing in an article on privacy... Hehehe, it gets funnier the longer you think about it

I remember seeing that long ago...it said Privacy Statement, qand then it sent my details to Olli via e-mail, followed with a pop-up window that said, "I've just invaded your privacy! I now know your e-mail, IP, bowser, and machine stats" (or something oike that). Luckily, I use IE5, and it stopped the form from being sent . But it IS funny...
That made me scared of Olli for the longest time...
Adios,

I wonder how many people run UNIX here.
I have little faith.
Olli Posted May 23, 2000
Well the point of the thing was that information like that is not private on the internet every hit counter harvests info like that
2% of visitors to my homepage use *nix systems,
I only just managed to get GNU/Linux Mandrake 7 to connect to my new isp yesterday, unfortunately Navigator seems to have some sort of memory leek type thing

I would like to know why people insist on putting a * somewhere in Unix. I have never understood this. Is it because they think Unix is a disaster and don't feel able to say the name, or are they worried that any M$ computers in the vicinity may cease to function on hearing the name of a competitor?

It is because there are many variants of Unix and not all of them are licenced to use the name unix which is a copyrighted name. For instance *Nix means all of the following (and more) Solaris, FreeBSD, Linux, HP-UX, Unix, SCO, etc. All of them are based on Unix but not all of them have paid the licence to be called such. If you can get around in one you can most likely get around in another.

It amazes me that after years of using Linux I have never actually picked that up as being the reason why!
